Public Health & Other Social Service

  • A number of Blood donation camps have been organised by Biradari. Sharad Patil from Dhule (Maharashtra) has played a key role in this area.

  • During 1977-1985, Yuvak Biradari organised many eye-camps wherein around 50,000 people were provided free eye-treatment and power glasses at a token amount of only Rs.10/-

  • 50 health camps till date have been organised to provide treatment as well as awareness of various sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV/AIDS) under the supervision of renowned experts Dr. Manohar Kher and Dr. Vitthal Prabhu.

  • A number of yoga camps have been conducted at various places under the guidance of yoga specialists Dr. Dhananjay Gunde and Father Jo Pareira.

  • During 1980-81, Biradari facilitated the rehabilitation of 500 physically handicapped people in Maharashtra.

  • Workshops for Self Employment: Unemployment has been one of the greatest problems of the educated youth in modern India. In the area of self employment, interview training and entrepreneurship, Yuvak Biradari organises workshops for the weaker sections of society whereby more than 15,000 young people have benefited at 125 such workshops held mostly in Maharashtra till the year 2000. Prof. S V Mani, Prof. M N Rudrabasoraj, Sharad Bhave, Pradip Balthakur, Madhusudan Sohani, Arun Bhaskaran, Anand Dikshit, Sunil Rege and many other experts have been faculty at these programmes. One of its much appreciated workshops has been the one organized exclusively for women self employment in 1997-98 with contribution from industrialist Neeru Mehta.

  • Udaan program for personality development and career guidance is being conducted by our faculty Bal Sadvelkar and Swar Kranti since 2004.

  • 150 camps have been organised to provide education related services to 15,000 students in Maharashtra.

  • During 1979-80, on the occasion of the International Year for the Child, Yuvak Biradari ran five Ideal Child Nurseries wherein special attention was paid to children’s character building, nutrition and sports.

  • Yuvak Biradari is providing financial help to young farmers for agricultural development in Maharashtra through the program Nave Gaon Andolan initiated under the leadership of Prof. P B Patil.

  • Share & Care program with 100 NSS students of various colleges of Mumbai University is being conducted in Mumbai since 2005. Biradari organized various workshops and excursion tours for their personality development and general awareness, and the volunteers undertook various kinds of social services in hospitals, campaigning for public safety and awareness at local railway stations and roads, environment awareness during Ganesh immersion at beaches of Mumbai, etc.
