Note from the Director

Rising...

In 1974, Yuvak Biradari (Bharat) rose to a mission of social development and youth welfare. Some thought that it was the need of the hour to deal with the problems faced by the world but for us they were not problems but priorities. We joined hands with many, realizing that collective voices, strengths and energies are the only way to make a big difference. There is no single, simple path for reaching the world of our dreams, but instead, multiple pathways that would lead toward it. Hence we decided to concentrate on social, educational and cultural advancement.

Speeding...

Simple solutions can speed the process of transforming hopeless scenarios into bright futures for a civilized society. Our youth camps and workshops have developed a generation of responsible citizens. Biradari’s ‘Jodo Bharat’ and ‘Save the Earth’ campaigns have traversed 35000 kms in India. The ‘Ek Sur Ek Taal’ value education programme has charged the spirits of 1.8 million students across India. The social themes of Biradari’s 2500 cultural presentations have created long lasting impressions. 150 regular and ad-hoc centres of Biradari across the country integrated a large number of members and partners along the journey that catalyzed the work of the founders. Proving ourselves in action made it a delightful journey.

Shaping...

Biradari continues to strengthen and shape itself in its fourth decade of action, practice and learning. Globalization and an urban-rural divide pose new challenges which lead us to new initiatives like the Nirman Abhiyaan. Progress is all about changing thoughts and direction with time. Insaani Biradari has also come into being so that we can create value by participation of diverse groups. Along with building a track record of achievements that make a positive change, we dream of setting up a ‘Yuva Gram/ Biradari Gram’ to present a wide range of opportunities for the growth and welfare of the international youth community.
